6. HOW TO REACH:

(a) By Flight: There are three flights—Jet Airways, Kingfisher and Indian Airlines, all the three flights fly from Delhi (Terminal 3) to Dehradun in the morning and afternoons. You can reach Dun by 11am or 4 pm. Details may be found from the internet or travel agents.

From Dehradun Air Port to NTC the distance is 40 kms., and Taxis will charge Rs. 900/- or Rs. 1000.

(b) By Train: There are a number of trains:

From Dehradun Railway Station to NTC it will be 12 kms. Taxis will take Rs. 350 or Rs. 400, Autos Rs. 200.

(c) By Bus: From Delhi ISBT Bus Terminal (Aanand Vihar Bus Terminal) to Dehradun ISBT Distance from ISBT to NTC will be 20 kms, taxis may charge Rs. 450 to 500.

Those who are coming by flights and trains, if they give Principal, NTC prior information of flight and train details, conveyance can be arranged from the airport and the railway station in Dehradun. Those who come by bus may take taxis or autos from the bus station. Sahastradhara Road is a popular road and the College is near the Helipad, Transport Commissioner’s Office after the Tibetan Colony and Mussoorie by pass road. When you care coming on the road after by pass road turn left.

7. Arrival and departure:

All the graduating students who will receive the degree at the Ceremony should arrive at the College Campus by the evening of 10^th February, 2012, and depart on February 11^th or 12^th, 2012.

8. INFORMATION TO THE GRADUATES:

You are requested to send your name, if you are attending the Convocation to the Registrar, Senate of Serampore College of not later than December 31, 2011. The graduates are also requested to inform plans for arrival and departure to the Registrar, Senate of Serampore College, with a copy to the Principal/Person-in-charge for the Meetings and the Convocation of New Theological College, Sahastradhara Road, P.O. Kulhan, Dehra Dun - 248 001, Uttarakhand .

Dehradun in the second week of February will be very cold (4 -10 degree Celsius). You need woolen sweater, jacket, and shawl. Good to keep a muffler and cap also. Keep a small torch for sometimes there will be electricity cut. Shoes are must due to weather.

9. Accommodation and Food:

The New Theological College, Sahastradhara Road, P.O. Kulhan, Dehra Dun - 248 001, Uttarakhand will take care of accommodation and food for the graduates from 10^th evening to 11^th evening.

Candidates desiring to come with their family members should make their own arrangements for boarding and lodging. The host College will not be able to provide such facilities.

10. Daily Timings:

The Host College will provide meals and refreshments as suggested below:

11. Commemoration Service:

There will be a Commemoration Service on 11th February at Conference Centre. All graduates shall be there to attend the service.

12. Rehearsal:

The rehearsal for Convocation will begin at 8:15 a.m. immediately following the Commemoration Service. All the graduating candidates who will receive their degrees are required to attend the rehearsal without fail.

Candidates who are not present at the rehearsal will not be permitted to take part in the Ceremony to receive the degree.

13. Travel Arrangements:

All the Graduates are advised to buy their own tickets and are responsible to meet their own travel. You are advised to make arrangement for your return journey.

14. Timings of the functions on the Convocation Day: (TENTATIVE)

The Convocation Ceremony will be over by 7.30 p.m. on 11th February, Graduates may leave the College on the same night, if they so desire.

15. ACADEMIC COSTUME:

The graduates will be supplied necessary information about this at the time of rehearsal.
