17 October, 2011 witnessed the historical event of Ground Breaking Ceremony for Department of Research / SATHRI in the phase of Serampore College (University) history.
The Ground Breaking Ceremony was done in the Serampore College campus beside CLRC, which is proposed site for the construction of the New Building for the Department of Research / SATHRI, Serampore College (University).
Rev. Dr. Ravi Tiwari, Registrar of Senate of Serampore College (University) briefly introduced the building project. This new building is going to have consultation and study rooms for the National Professors and the scholars. The project will cost about 3 Crore of Rupees out of which 1.3 Crore have been granted by EMW Germany (from the sale of Bangalore SATHRI Office).
Rev. Dr. Lalchungnunga Principal and Secretary, Council of Serampore College led the Ground Breaking Ceremony. He offered a word of Prayer and gave a brief exhortation on the text (Psalms 118:22-26). Mrs. Lalhliri, Rev. Dr. Ravi Tiwari, Rev. Dr. P.C. Gine, (Vice Principal, Theology Department), Mrs. Amongla Zamir, (Secretary, Theology Department), Rev. Dr. D. Halder, (Chaplain, Theology Department), Mr. Sudipta Mahapatra,(Librarian, Theology Department), Mr. Anil Kumar, (Student President, Theology Society), Mrs.Dipti Gine, (Coordinator, CLRC), Mr. Debasis Pathak, (Senate Staff), Rev. Gauranga Halder, (Pastor, Mission Church), Mr. Manoranjan Rout, (Caretaker in charge) also followed in breaking the ground.
All the participants were thanked and invited by Dr. H. Vanlalauva, Dean, Department of Research / SATHRI to share the joy of fellowship in the breakfast.
